The Great Garden Company was formed from personal experience and a desire to add a personal, selective touch. Our founder, Luke, grew up in Devon, surrounded by great gardens, green fields, woodlands, and the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. His love for nature began with playing and growing in his parents' and grandparents' back gardens, and it continues to this day.

Celebrating both his 18th and 21st birthdays in the family garden, Luke recognized how special these spaces can be.

Meet the Team

Luke, our founder, spent his childhood in Devon, creating fond memories in his parents' garden or visiting his grandparents and admiring their various gardening projects. The local allotments around his hometown were always in high demand, reflecting the joy and responsibility cherished by their occupants.

Luke spent his twenties working abroad, absorbing the beauty of nature across Europe and beyond. He noticed European and international trends influencing UK gardens, with exotic palms and Italian furniture becoming favorites.

During a backpacking trip in Australia, Luke worked for a British woman on her garden on the east coast. From rearranging a cactus garden to weeding among suspicious spider webs, Luke extended his gardening experience from the UK to the other side of the world.

Today, Luke leads our small team, ensuring we stay true to our humble roots while being aware of both UK and international trends and styles.
